February made sure we knew it was winter! But in just a few days, we'll set the clocks ahead, welcoming the slow return of warmth. Funny how time plays tricks on us; slow traffic feels endless, yet time with loved ones flies by. Kids can't wait for spring, while teens feel the slow itch of waiting for adulthood. Everybody's in a rush!
Time & Healing
Life's processes all take time. Digestion, growth, and healing aren't instant, and just like a baby takes many months to develop, healing follows its own timeline. Your personal health history is a factor as well.
Chiropractic's 6th Principle reminds us:
There is no process that does not require time.
One of the most common questions I hear is, "How long will this take?" The answer? It depends. Healing isn't always about what we expect, it's about what our body needs. And for more to think about; dental repair is one thing, but keeping your teeth healthy requires commitment and caring for a lifetime. Shouldn't your spine and nerve function be as or even more important?
We live in a world of instant everything, from fast food to faster internet. But the body doesn't work that way. A wound takes time to scab and scar. A broken bone takes time to mend. A subluxation often develops over time and correction takes time too. Chiropractic care helps remove interference so your body can heal in its own time.
Investing in Your Health
Over the years, I've watched so many practice members make incredible health transformations, not because of me, but because of the body's ability to do the healing.
Helping you express your best health is what I do. Showing up for adjustments is what you do. That, plus better choices for rest, play, nutrition and spinal hygiene all add up. Over time these positive choices strengthen the body, making you more adaptive and resilient.
So take the time. Make time to get checked regularly. Healing and staying healthy happens over time, and as the world brightens this spring, so will you!
P.S. Check out the photo at the bottom of me with pioneer practice member Jean! 35+ years of chiropractic care and still going strong! She and her husband started care with me when I was fresh out of college. A lifetime of wellness is 'time well spent'.
I'll see you on the tables!
