Chiropractic Around the World!

Preparing this October newsletter ahead of my usual deadline is happening a little differently—but through the magic of all things software, here we are!

As many of you know, I’m heading to Watamu, Kenya, and going on safari as well! I’ll be sharing Chiropractic, along with a team of doctors and students in a community that has been waiting for us to come back.

I know I’ll expand my own knowledge and skills, while growing even more deeply in my passion for this wonderful gift of restoring life through the Chiropractic adjustment.

I’ll be immersed in a week of giving back to humanity in a beautiful community of sweet people. And that’s fitting, because Watamu literally means “sweet people” in Swahili and is located on Kenya’s Indian Ocean coast. Go find it on the Indiana Jones map I made later in the newsletter.

I’m so proud to be part of this 5th Chiro for Kenya mission trip, spearheaded by Dr. Angela Marrick. The work has been very well received, and these lovely people look forward to every opportunity to have chiropractors check, adjust, and teach the principles of Chiropractic.

Thank you to each and every one of you for your understanding and patience as I step away from the office to fulfill a career-long dream of opening my mind and heart through Chiropractic mission work.

Missions happen close to home, too. For 10 years I adjusted residents at Easton’s Third Street Alliance for Women and Children. I gained much compassion through my time there, hearing stories and realizing that, no matter the circumstances, being free of subluxations makes a difference in someone’s life. It was a valuable exchange. Giving back was deeply ingrained into our family values, and my sisters and cousins each have their own ways of being part of volunteer work in their communities.

Never did I imagine that Chiropractic would take me on a journey to what will soon be my fifth of seven continents!

Through Chiropractic, I have traveled! Plans made with colleagues, now dear friends, or seminars, and personal growth experiences have taken me to Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, New England, the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Virginia—and internationally to Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, and Mexico. I’ve also cruised with Chiropractic friends to Costa Rica, Panama, and Belize.

Fun and learning times. And I’m sure I missed a few..

So, keeping with tradition, this will arrive in your mailboxes on October 1, but imagine me in a jeep by Kilimanjaro, living the second half of this adventure! I’ll be back in the office October 5, and I look forward to seeing all of you. Many have already asked about photos. Of course! And hakuna matata, I’ll be mailing a postcard to the office, too.

Ribbon Time

October is also Chiropractic Awareness Month in our office, so dig through those drawers and closets and come up with something clever and ORANGE to wear! You’ll be entered to win our raffle basket and more importantly can help spread Chiropractic awareness by wearing an orange ribbon.

This annual tradition runs all month, so let’s see who comes up with the most interesting orange idea, ensemble, or accessory! New patients come in October for a special rate when referred by you. 'Orange' you glad you told someone?

Family practice and wellness care have always been where I have placed my practice mission. So many of you have continued to make regular adjustments part of your life and living formula, and I’m grateful to be part of that journey with you.

See you in a few days! Donna and I look forward to serving you and yours.

Orange you glad there’s Chiropractic?!

See you on the tables!

P.S. My heartfelt thanks to Donna, Jean, Dr. Jess, Rachel, and Dierdre for their skills and help, keeping all the behind-the-scenes workings going smoothly while I’m away.

It takes a village!

See you on the Tables soon!
