Well April is here and for those of us looking for some spring growth and longer light, it is a welcome sight!
We’ve shifted from rock salt to fertilizer and from snowplows to lawn mowers.
Each season has a reason; winter gave the earth and our lives a bit of rest to pull in and rejuvenate. I hope you’re enjoying seeing all the colors start to pop in our area, ballgames are beginning and backyard animals scampering about.. gotta love it. :)
Your body’s wisdom has started a cycle of change too. It’s the normal process of life: our winter coats are heading to the back of the closet and our pets' coats are coming off too, being shed. It's a time of clearing, lightening and opening windows, spring cleaning!
When spring approaches, our body shifts quietly out of winter mode - like sap rising in a tree. Here’s a few changes you may notice:
Respiratory lining refreshes, and nasal passages and lungs clear to handle the spring air.
Circulation opens with warmer temps - more blood to skin, hands, feet!
Lymphatic movement increases - more outdoor time and motion encourages fluid shifts, reducing the stagnations of winter.
Immune system resets and pivots to tolerate molds, dust and pollens.
Hormones shift to the longer daylight too. Your melatonin is reduced, so your daytime alertness goes up, and subtly boosts metabolism.
Hunger change? Maybe shifting now to more fresh food desires, and away from comfort foods of brrr days these past months.
Bottom line? if you find yourself sniffling, and clearing your throat, it’s often not getting sick, it’s your amazing body making perfect preparations to “change coats” and reset from within for the spring season.
You're ready for more movement, light and renewal! Guess what? The nerve system coordinates all these necessary changes. When you’re free of subluxations, your body leans into these seasonal adaptations so they occur in beautiful rhythm. It's nature; it's natural, it's INNATE.
You're changing your heavy winter coat and "inner coatings" too, for the brand new season of spring -- as you were designed to do.
Adjustments make all the difference!
Happy Spring!
Happy Passover!
Happy Easter!
See you on the Tables!
