Earning Layers of Trust

Every now and then I have the opportunity to explain what I call the layers of trust.

Each time I do, I realize I should write it down. So here we go..

When you first came to our office, chances are you found us in one of two ways. Either through someone you know—a family member, friend, or co-worker—recommended us, or you read our Google reviews. In either case, someone else's positive experience gave you a reason to trust us before we ever met.

Then came your first phone call. The cheerful voice on the other end, your questions answered professionally and courteously, and the feeling that someone genuinely cared all added another layer of confidence that you had found the right place.

Next was your first visit. A warm welcome. A thorough examination. Time to answer your questions. Seeing other families in our comfortable, homestyle office. All of these experiences quietly reinforced that you were in a unique setting, where your health truly matters and you felt heard.

These first layers of trust are important. They helped you understand how your care would proceed and why Chiropractic care is different. But at this point, your trust is still based largely on information and observation. It is logical. It is intellectual. It is not yet experiential.

The deepest layer of trust begins the moment you first lie on the adjustment table.

The word Chiropractic comes from the Greek words cheir (hand) and praktikos (done by hand). At that moment, something remarkable happens. Your body encounters my hands for the first time. It must recognize that the specific corrective touch force of an adjustment although unfamiliar, is first explained, and is a help.

In many ways, your body doesn't yet "know" my hands. This is a trust that cannot be assumed—it must be earned. My goal is to communicate through every adjustment that I am here for one purpose: to remove interference from your spine and nerve system so your body's own wisdom can function more fully.

That has always been my mission.

I remain deeply humbled by the thousands of referrals our practice has received since opening in 1991. Those referrals are not simply compliments; they represent a genuine trust shared from one family to another.

The focus has never about chasing symptoms, pain relief, or rehabilitation alone. Our purpose is to restore the body's innate wisdom by reducing vertebral subluxation and helping your nerve system function at its best. Your life force is the healer! My responsibility is to locate and reduce the interference.

It's as simple as that.

Trust is earned over time, adjustment by adjustment, visit by visit. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your family's health journey, and for continuing to share your experiences with others. Being subluxation-free is a wonderful way to live!

And, as we celebrate 250 years of the many freedoms we enjoy, may we also remember how truly fortunate we are to have the freedom to make our own health care choices.

See you on the Tables!
